Book Doctoring/Manuscript Critique
Make no mistake, writing a novel is not a step-by-step procedure, it's art. Some books need more doctoring and critique than others. For new clients, since I have no understanding of your style and talent, it is impossible to simply quote a price. So, here is how I like to approach an initial project:
1 - Send me ten or fifteen pages of your novel so I can assess your writing skills.
2 - A short description (50 to 100 words) describing what your book is about - feel free to discuss plot and/or theme.
3 - I will send back your pages with notes and suggestions so you can see the type of work I will do for you.
4 - If we agree to move forward, my fee is $2.00 per page based on a layout of Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced with one inch margins. I do try to accommodate writers who are on a very strict budget, so please feel free to contact me, and we can discuss it.
For existing clients, I will happily quote a fixed price based on word or page count.

3 - The time frame in which you would like the manuscript completed.
4 - Who is the intended audience? Some novels are written just for family and friends, others are written with the intention for full publication.
5 - What is the intended theme? Many books are written without having this in mind, which is fine. Theme finds a way into a book no matter what you do.
